OUR MISSION Local 516 strives to promote a safe work site environment, upgrade training opportunities and keep our members in step with the ever changing fabrication industry. This helps to ensure maximum membership employment opportunities that, through collective bargaining, secures the highest possible standard of hourly wages, fringe benefits and working conditions. Our members’ daily work skills and efforts reflect the highest standards of industry training, knowledge and practice of safety and job-site productivity. OUR GOALS Ironworkers Shopmens Local 516 conducts aggressive campaigns to organize those who need a voice in the workplace so they will have higher wages, pensions, family health plans and greater respect for their profession and skills. The Iron Workers have representatives who stand ready to assist unorganized workers . If you’re not currently a member of the Iron Workers, but work in the steel fabrication or related industries, you can apply for help in organizing your workplace.
