IF YOU HAVE BEEN LAID OFF due to illness, injury or lack of work
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR UNEMPLOYMENT,
1. Your union dues must be current; and you must be available for immediate dispatch.
2. CALL or come into the Union office
a. Leave your name, phone number, last date worked and job classification.
We will put your name on the Out of Work List
If you are laid off, ill or injured for more than 13 working days in a row, during the month, you are eligible for reduced dues. Reduced dues are one-half (1 / 2) your regular dues amount, for up to 12 months. IF YOUR UNION DUES ARE UNPAID FOR 6 MONTHS YOUR MEMBERSHIP WITH THE UNION WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY FORFEITED. If you return to work within the trade, after forfeiting your membership, you will be required to pay a reinstatement fee currently $250.
To make sure your union dues are processed mail all union dues payments directly to:

Put your NAME and 516 Member number on the payment.
Payment is due by the 20th of the month. It is your responsibility to keep your union dues current and stay in contact with the union office.
